rem 700 sps tac magazine conversion

i have a rem 700 tac in 308 with the varmint style stock that is on the sps varmint line of rifles, and i want to put a detachable clip kit in it, who makes one that will fit the stock

Wyatt's M4 detachable magazine assembly. Best bang for the buck. Stocky's has them. If money is no object, I would go with the Badger Ordnance M5. Hey, Midway has them on sale right now for $360 I believe

looks the same but mine required a quite a bit of inletting...it aslo said on the PTG site that the bottom metal may require stock mod in small print

No the other you linked to is for an M5 inlet. The "may require mods" disclaimer is, in my mind, the CYA principle (Cover your A$$) I can't speak for this one but I have a PTG drop-in for long action and it's a nice snug fit in the bdl stock. This new short action drop-in takes different mags than the standard AI mags, in case you didn't catch that

ahhhh gotcha...i was looking at the AI mag versions...dang...i was about to be excited to drop one in my next build lol

the wyatts is a drop in at least for me it was now im waiting on my burris 4.5-17 bdc scope to come in

Go with the AI mag version as it'll probably save yourself some headache down the road with finding reliable mags and mag parts.
