Trying to determine if I need medium or low rings on my Remington 700 SPS Varmint .308 with heavy barrel, 20moa 1-piece scope base, and a 40mm scope. The rings I will be using are Burris Extreme Picatinny 1" rings. Im thinking because of the slightly larger barrel and the elevated base the medium rings would be the proper choice... any opinions?
