Just wondering if anyone has any information on the best grouping loads in 300 win mag for this rifle rem 700 xcr tactical long range, manufactured loads and hand loads? I shoot elk and moose.

Mine likes 210VLDs in Winchester Cases, i dont have my load data in front of me but I found 2 or 3 different nodes that are a little more on the lighter side. I am experimenting with 208 Amax's this weekend more, but my initial test show lots of promise of 208Amax, 76g H1000 and Winchester Cases 0.010 off the lands (which for my XCR is around 3.59")

Mine shoots .5 with blackhills 190 match.And as for reloads 210 vlds with 72. grains of rl-22.mine did not like h1000.still working up 190smks and imr 7828 ssc.mine coppered bad when i first bought it shoot tubb finial finish through it and check stock to see if it is floated mine wasnt.good luck.

I am at home now, and your load is funny cause mine loved 210VLDs with 71.5 and 72.0 RL22 as well, it shot easily 1/2MOA with it, i never tested the speed, but i know its somewhere in the middle. It did OK with 72.5, but any higher groups really opened up. What FPS are you getting with your Load? I need to pick up some more 210's but I am sitting on over 300 208Amaxs i want to use first.

So you recommend using tubb final finish for barrel break in? my gun hasn't ever been fired yet brand new. What did you guys do for break in?

I did not use Tubb, i had a box of 300WM FGM, took 1 shot, clean barrel, then took 2 shot, clean barrel, took 3 shot, clean barrel, took another 3, cleaned, one less set of 3, cleaned, and then did a final 5 shot group, measured 5/8-3/4 of an inch and called it good. That did take like 2.5hours to do all that, but thats how i brake in a barrel, with atleast 1 or 2 minutes between shots.

10 rounds - clean every shot
10 rounds - clean every other shot

REl1203 i was getting 2920 fps. But when I was shooting last wed. my barrel blew out of the action the threads were 3/4 gone so remington got the gun back.Im going to buy a 700p in 300wm this comming week.

I was able to test mine as well this weekend and was getting 2880 or so,pretty happy with that load

I load 69.3gr of IMR4350 w/ 200gr SMK's. I know, people will dog me for using it as a hunting round but it gets the job done. I pushing right around 2920fps

I have the tactical 2 in 300 win mag............ I shoot 210 smk's with H1000 73.5- 74.5
It shoots very well.

Mine XCR TLR shot cheapo fusion 165's under 3.5" at 600yrds in an XLR chassis. Thinking about selling it with my XLR chassis to buy a SA XLR chassis for my 20" 300 rsaum LTR but afraid I'll regret it :-/
