just got my new xcr with a nightforce and i have put about 40 rounds threw it an some cases are being a pain to get chambered and too make things worse with nosler custom factory bullets they aren't ejecting very well or get super jammed up, cases at the thoat have a little flat spot after fired? i tryed using remington premier siroccos and they were good , till tonight i went to the range and my first shot was tight to get in so i tryed another and it wasn't as tight but still tight. all ammo used is factory, i have no idea? need input on what to start with, i was thinking head space too small but i don't know....

Friend had two xcr that went back to Remington. Both 300Win Mag. One had finish flaking off and wouldn't hold a group. Other, like yours, would stick casings when fired. Brass marked on casing at shoulder/body and lip. Remington replaced first one and gave him his money back on second.

I went and shot mine last weekend and noticed the reloads with nickel plated brass was hard to eject, the factory normal brass was fine. It really didn't impress me for accuracy but I wasn't looking for that yet, it wasn't horrible at about 1.25" with the factory 180's and maybe a little looser on the reloads. I didn't really see any signs of pressure on the primers but figured that might have been why it was tight ejecting. All the roundd chronoed were about 100 fps faster than I expected, does that coating help with speed?

It's just not the performance I thought I was buying, problems feeding and extracting... It's a bolt action like how do you mess that up with a 1400 dollar gun... Just disapointing to have to deal with any of this stuff I am next going to see if I can see anything with a borroscope at the thoat of the barrel maybe a bur or something, and then try some winchester cases.thanks for the information it is very useful , not much info on other owners experiences with this model of firearm.

shouldn't have to do that to a new rifle. call remington and give them a chance to make it right

Re: Rem 700 xcr tlr 300 win mag problems need help!!!!

Bought an XCR in .308 about four years ago. Great little shooter with no problems. I gave that to my son about a year ago.

Got the itch for a solid .223, so I called around, found it about 100 miles away and went and bought it... Yes an XCR.
Clamped an NF on it, took it to the range and using FGM shot about 20 rounds, sighting and plinking. Nice tight groups, sub MOA. Finished up the day with my AI. When I went to verify a clear chamber prior to packing up by cycling the bolt. The bolt handle literally popped off in my hand! When shooting the cycle seemed a little stiff, but nothing too noticable. (Brazing defect on closer inspection.)

Called Remington, got shipping instructions an (emailed) ppd label etc. Sent the gun off on a Friday and it was back in exactly two weeks.

I, too, expected a forever wait, so I bought .223 Surgeon from Surgeon's
website. I ordered on the Monday following the Friday that I sent the Rem off.
I'll give the Remington to my daughter (I still think that it's a good gun) but Surgeon is what I call my nice coyote gun now.

Moral: give Remington a chance to make good before you acquire an even more expensive habit!
