got the 700 p .300 and it is bad to the bone. if you reload I recommend 72.3 reloader 22 with 210 berger vld's. shot a doe at 542 this year and she was dead before i heard the bullet hit

The XCR is Stainless and the 700P is not. The XCR also has a better trigger. I had the the same decision and went with the XCR. If I could to do it again I'd go with the Rem 700 5R. My XCR in 300wm was a 1-1.5 MOA gun with AICS. Sold it to go custom.
