Rem XR100 action compatibility?

Will the XR100 action fit any model 700 footprint stock? I am about to build off of a rem XR100 22-250 but don't want the hassle of stock availability. I have been searching for sometime but can't find a definite answer. Thanks

No. The XR100 action is not a 700 footprint. It is a solid bottom Model 7 configuration. You would have to special order a stock most likely. BTW, if you want a tactical build don't even think about using the solid bottom action.
They are great actions and all the XR100 rifles I have been around shoot great. I even owned one of the 22-250 ones.

Nope, this will not be a tactical rifle. Just a single shot long range hunting/target rig. So the single shot is not a real big deal. Few build specs though, 29inch kreiger in 7 SAUM AI

Its already set with short action customs and is going to be sent out at the end of the month. I think I am just going to go with the original stock and pillar/skim bed it.

The stocks that are inletted for the model 7 will also fit. AND, you will have a hollow section where the magazine well is to stash money away.

If you are talking about an XP-100 it would probably be to your advantage to consider making a block gun out of it. In my experience the small action of the xp/mod 600 Remeington, doesn't have enough thread length in the action to support a larger longer barrel, thereby making for a less rigid settup. I had mine transformed into a block unit, Lijla barreled, 6br sitting in a Shehane Tracker stock that in 600 yd has literally exceeded my wildest expectations.

Yes, it is basicly an aluminum sleeve if you will that supports the barrel and the action. it is bedded, (mine is pillar bedded), in the stock. the block is the only contact with the stock. It supports the heavy barrel with the action hanging on for the ride. This is a simplification. If you contact me i will send pics of mine. I ain't up on posting on forums. Also the beauty of it is you can have your smith make you any barrel you wish onn the same platform and you can change them yourself. (ie, .308,6br,.As long as they are short action.)
