Rem700 SPS,LTR,PSS Precsion Rifle: Lets See Em'!

Re: Rem700 SPS,LTR,PSS Precsion Rifle: Lets See Em'!

Here's mine all stock SPS Tactical in .308win. Nightforce 20MOA Base, Arms#22Rings med, Leupold Mk4 Illuminated TMR, and harris Bipod. The paint is Cerakote, and it's held up pretty nicely so far with just a few places on the stock where it's rubbed off.

Here's my first crack at the PTT. Yes I know the gun can do better still working on the shooter.

Hey boss. What is that coating on your stock? I am dying to find out, and noone seems to be able to answer me. I want to apply some to my stock. Looks good.

There is no coating. It's molded in to the stock. Check out McMillans color options to see more.

Re: Rem700 SPS,LTR,PSS Precsion Rifle: Lets See Em

Base Model was a Rem 700 LTR in .308:

In Nov. 2009, it had a H-S Precision A-1 Tactical Varmint Stock PSV 097, H-S Precision DBM, Hooper Bolt Knob Conversion, Harris Bipod, Seekins 20 MOA Bases, and Burris Signature Zee Rings, holding a SS 3-9x42MM.

On to June 2010, I've added an AICS 2.0, IOR 3-18x42MM FFP scope, TPS Xtra Low Rings, and an Atlas V7 Bipod.

DSCF1566.jpg

Later this year, it will have a Brux 7mm MTU Contour Barrel, in 7mm-08. Plus an action Blueprinting and new Cerakote all by SAC.

Here ya go. Remy SPS .308, HS Precision PST093, Badger M5, Tac Ops knob.
Don't mind the Nikon bdc, shopping and saving for a tac scope, but had to get it out and see what it can do. Used to be a hunting gun....now a work in progress.

Lots of purty smoke sticks in here!

This one is a 700 LTR in .308 with a Badger bolt knob, CDI bottom metal, B&C A5 stock, Harris pod and SWFA 5-20 glass. Needless to say it's fun to shoot! My best 5-shot group so far is .350" @ 100 yds.

Nice rig, man!

Tell me about the Badger FTE. I've been looking for a bolt-on brake and that one looks to be about right. Which size did you get? Did you put it yourself?

its a great brake dont remember the exact part number, it was installed by kieth at phoenix customs, it had to be opened up, a sleeve needs to be done on the barrel as well as the threading if needed, it virtually eliminated all muzzle rise

Re: Rem700 SPS,LTR,PSS Precsion Rifle: Lets See Em'!

My SPS Tactical is a serious shooter. Here's a target that I used to check my scope's tracking. I shot the clean cold bore shot (consistently up and left) then 2 in the zero, then upper left, then next in line:

Re: Rem700 SPS,LTR,PSS Precsion Rifle: Lets See Em'!

Here is a crappy pic of my pair. Both low budget works in progress. Top is a SPS varmint in 308, Black Friday special at Dick's $350. Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44 fineplex from cameraland, Burris signature 30mm rings.
Bottom is a Sps tactical in 223 with the same Viper 6.5-20x44, and Burris signature rings.
Just getting started.

Re: Rem700 SPS,LTR,PSS Precsion Rifle: Lets See Em'!

This is my first bolt gun.
Just put it together, haven't even had a chance to shoot it yet.
Remington barreled action from a brand new 700 SPS .308 Stainless... I had no idea how light the barrel profile was when I ordered it! I plan on rebarreling it in a year or so in 6.5 CM or .260 Remington.
Timney 510 trigger set at factory weight (3 lbs?).
McRees folding chassis in FDE and stock pad.
Magpul MOE grip in FDE.
Some cheap bipod I bought at a gun show... has stood up to a few hundred rounds out of an FNAR, so I suspect it will hold up okay on this rifle which weighs 6 pounds more.
EGW flat rail bedded and pinned (two 1/8" 416 SS pins) and mount screws upgraded to #8-40 by yours truly.
S&B PMII 5-25x56 P4F in a 13 mil Spuhr mount.

Liking it...I'm game

Both 308's...Shilen barrels. work very well.

After all the B.S. there are actually two in the middle....did not want to jinx the third...that's with the choate stock, ptg bolt.
Anyway, just happy building.
Great shooting to all...
