29 years ago in aussie land..... you may have heard about "the port arthur massacre"....
thing is, the dude who supposedly did it was mentally defective - as in late 20's early 30's or so, but had mental capacity of maybe an 8yo, by any aussie standard, not competent to handle firearms.....
yet in a crowded panicked room, he was able to kill something like 30 people, many with head shots, "firing from the hip" and changing magazines like a pro, in under 90 seconds
but get this, the main firearm used, was stolen from its rightful owner - oops I mean voluntarily surrendered to state police (*different state) not all that long before (positive ID by previous owner from certain mods and scratches)
and this was the trigger point for "brave new gun laws" and "buy back schemes" etc etc, that our politicians have been trying to shove down other countries throats ever since....
yes, during the buy backs, several cops got caught selling guns out the back of the collection points...
looks like your gun control zealots and such are are almost 30 years behind us - but trying to catch up fast
