Problem is kids/grandkids today don't want to drive either. That leaves uber and lyft, or hold out for robo!!!
Robo is getting better. Used Waymo several times this summer and was impressed. Drove better than any Lyft or Uber driver I’ve had in a while - cheaper too. Made a few moves to navigate West LA traffic that were impressive.
I wouldn't mind trying a Waymo just to buzz around town, but I'd never use it for long distance travel on the highway. I want to get into train travel. Dealing with air travel is just such an ass pain.
Some of the mentality posted here, reinforces the logic that humans are self centered manipulative assholes, who would quickly trade freedom for safety, administered by members of the insane wolves club.
I had a city councilman tell me that he was greatful for the safety and security of the police. I asked him how many crimes has the city police stopped before they happened. He said that they were the first to show up at his house when a family member was having a medical emergency. I asked him if they performed any medical procedures to aid the person or just held his hand until the rescue squad arrived. He just scoffed and didn't answer. So I assume he likes having his hand held.

The problem in congress is the lack of term limits and stupid voters. Age is simply a natural outcome.
