Remington 03A3 sportified

I obtained this rifle and know a little bit about the one I got but cant figure out a few markings on the barrel "Van Wert" and " C L MFRICLE" and any information would be appreciated.

More pics please sir! I love those old mil surp sporters(as long as it was already sporterized or just a bare action and not bought recently as a full spec mil surp to then butcher), and desperately wanna get hold of a JC Higgins w/ FN Commercial action. Or better yet, a Flaig's supreme!

I have 2 JC Higgins with the FN action. They are both very nice old rifles.
