Well, I can't speak to the .308 Tactical but my 30-06 single shot 40X is the best shooting rifle I've ever owned. $2400 sounds a little steep. I think I saw one on GB for uner $2000 if I remember correctly. It was "used" though. Bottom line is... if I could have afforded it I would have bought it. Same with yours. If it were me and I could afford it, I'd buy it. Just my $0.02
