Remington 5R 300 Win Mag?

Hey guys Ive been looking to get the Remington 700 5R Milspec in either 308 or 300 win mag. But I'm leaning towards the 300wm since I have a LMT 308 MWS already and would like to get out there a bit further with the extra energy. Ive read great things about the 5R in 308 but havent seen much on the 300 win mag version.

What can you guys tell me about the 5R in 300 win mag? Accuracy? Loads? etc..

What length would you get 24 or 26inch?

My 300 5R tears stacked holes easily at 100...it is very consistent with every load I've feed it. My standard duty round is Berger 210s over H-1000.

Mine is a .300 5r with a 26" breaked barrel set up with a nf nxs 5.5x22x56. And badger ordnance 20 moa base and tps rings. I have tried ALOT of r22 and h1000 loads. Tweaked it to 76.5 h1000 Rp brass fgm215m and 210 vlds. Running 2900 fps and it is a 1/4 to 1/3 moa load. 3.600" 2.912" to ogive

Not a bad way to roll,if forced to suffer a .30. The .532's are throated much more favorably than the .473's and the added magbox latitude in conjunction,frosts the cake.

The stocks suck ass though.

Get it in a AICS and Be done with it! It'll Shoot, not a lot of people post up 5R .300 WMs with all these .260 Rem and 6.5s performing exceptionally at Long Range without the Recoil abuse. but It's a great starting point for a Accurate Bolt On Build if you want the Magnum Power!

I Had a 5R .308 20" and now a 5R .300 WM 26". Both are Tac Drivers. Although, I recommend a Brake on the .300 WM, and I'll be chopping the BBL to 22-20inch soon, surefire brake planned. Good Luck!

Your question should be: "What won't a 22" 300Winny do,that a 26" will?".

Basically, no loss of performance by going to 22" in .300WM.
