REMINGTON 5R .308 20" THREADED BARREL

When I got my 5R a few years ago, I considered cutting it to 20" to match the LTR. Instead, it was fluted and ported.

Today, I learned that Remington makes 5Rs in other than .308, and that they have a 20" threaded version... cool!

Nice too bad I'd be on the loosing end if I sold my and bought one versus just having my cut and threaded.

Now if I seen one of these first I'd be all over it.

I noticed my local dealer has one of these the other day. I'm considering selling off my 700 tactical to fund buying one and getting glass and such whenever I can.

There's one in Butler, PA at a gun store brand new for $989 if I remember correctly.

Do you remember the name of the gunshop? I tried a general search with no results.

If it's the same model at that price, my resistance will be overcome by my sickness.

It is the newer 20" Remington 700SS R5 with the threaded muzzle and thread protector. HS Precision stock, black with green webbing. Like I said, I believe it was $989, if I remember correctly. Definitely less than a grand.

I remember because we were at Dukes Sporting Goods in New Castle, PA right before I seen that and they had the older R5 like mine for $1299 and I walked out laughing. It was the 24" version.

Give them a call and see if they still got it. I was there Saturday, I suspect it'll still be there. It was on the wall hanging where fewer people look.
