Getting ready to pick up a 5r 223 and have a question about the barrel twist. What I’m finding online shows the 20” at 1-9 and the 24” at 1-9.5, can anyone verify? I’m wanting to shoot 69gr bullets and I’m unsure if it will make a difference.

5R rifling is the same rifling used for the Army's M24 sniper rifles. They are not the same barrel. From what I've read, 5r rifling is supposed to yield better accuracy than barrels with conventional rifling . Also, keep in mind that Remington cuts their throats long so you may have problems seating certain weight bullets because of the distance to the lands. That can be rectified by having your smith recut the chamber and set the barrel back.
A lot of guys get really hung up on the milspec thing. Milspec does not mean it's the best part out there. It means that is the highest quality the government was willing to pay for.

I appreciate all the milspec comments. Maybe I worded it wrong, I don’t care about milspec, that’s just what it has. I was trying to identify the gun. My question is are the twist rates different between the 20 and 24 barrels.

Probably because some sites show actual barrel twist rates, while others show the rounded up value. Just like a lot of 1-8 6.5mm barrels are actually more like 1-8.25...
I am currently shooting my second 24" Both are marked 9twist and shoot 52 and 69 SMK"s awsome.
Sold the first and had to get another. Timney 510 , H 4895, SMK and instant success.
24 buys speed.
It is my understanding that the 223 5R's were 1-9" twist. I have one of the earlier models. I admit I've never actually measured the twist rate! That said, I love this thing, it shoots 53 grain Hornady V-Maxes into tiny groups with Varget! It's my favorite Ground Squirrel rifle!!!!
