Gunsmithing Remington .700 .222 mag facelift

I decided to try using cerakote. This is C-241 O.D. Green that I got from Brownells. I preped the rifle as recommened, and applied it with an airbrush. I also did a .308 in graphite black for a friend of mine that he bought here on the Hide. We just did the action, barrel, and bottom metal on that one.

Looks good bro...when the Krylon wears off my XC I'll have you cerro it for me in "sand".

Whats the dry time on that?

You can handle the parts after about 5 hours. I've been waiting about 24 hours before I reassemble the weapon, just to make sure its good and cured.

Air cure "C" Cerakote is fully cured in five days.

That is correct, I think that it needs the 5 days before you go using the weapon. Time will tell if it holds up to the abuse that some of my stuff takes.

Is air dry as durable as bake on?

I hope so...I've got 2 that GAP did for me, bake on I assume. I use one of them almost daily and it is holding up well. I guess time well tell. I would love some feedback on that if anyone else is using it. Might be a good thread to start.

Thermal cure is slightly more durable then the air cured but still good stuff.
