I decided to try using cerakote. This is C-241 O.D. Green that I got from Brownells. I preped the rifle as recommened, and applied it with an airbrush. I also did a .308 in graphite black for a friend of mine that he bought here on the Hide. We just did the action, barrel, and bottom metal on that one.

You can handle the parts after about 5 hours. I've been waiting about 24 hours before I reassemble the weapon, just to make sure its good and cured.

That is correct, I think that it needs the 5 days before you go using the weapon. Time will tell if it holds up to the abuse that some of my stuff takes.

I hope so...I've got 2 that GAP did for me, bake on I assume. I use one of them almost daily and it is holding up well. I guess time well tell. I would love some feedback on that if anyone else is using it. Might be a good thread to start.
