Hey guys,
First post and 100% newb to bolt action precision guns. I am getting the itch to build a bolt action precision rifle and will be going with a Remington 700 chambered in .308, but Im noticing there are LOTS of variations / models of the 700. Are there some better then others out of the box when it comes to trigger / barrel / bolt / etc? Do they all accommodate the use of a magazine? Do some come with threaded barrels out of the box? What would you suggest are the top (3) 700 models chambered in .308 I should look for that are decent out of the box, and good platforms to build on as money allows?
Im not trying to be a navy seal or competition shooter, basically just looking to build a rifle that will be accurate enough to hit a 10" circle target beyond 500 yards
my local guntrader site seems to have varmints pop up a lot and ADL's every now and then, but these seem like they are the "lower end" of the 700 line up?
any advice to help me from making an impulse buy would be greatly appreciated
