Need much input on Rifle/Scope/trigger/stock etc.
Trying to decide what I want on my .308 Rifle Build.
1) Remi or Savage Action?
-- I like the Savage oversize bolt knob and the floating bolt head.. but I like the accessories availability of the Remi.
2) SS 5R-11.25 Twist barrrel or standard-10-twist blue barrel?
-- Savage barrels are dope accurate out of the box, but they foul too easy. 5R barrels foul less, and both the Remi and Savage 5R option seem to be just as much if not more accurate than traditional rifling.
3) NightForce 15x or 22x?
-- 15x has a larger FOV and seems to be enough for man size targets out to 1500 yards. 22x is awesome because well... it's 22x and has more mag. Also I can always use it in 11x mode and double the hash marks.
4) NightForce 50mm or 56mm objective?
-- Not sure if there is a difference in brightness, but 50mm will allow me to sit my scope lower.
5) McMillan A5 or AICS 2.0?
-- I like McMillan Stocks, but nothing seems more natural to me than AICS stocks. Only thing I don't like about the AICS stock are the looks.
6) Rifle Basix or Jewell Trigger?
-- Jewell is the best, but have heard from many who own both that the Rifle Basix is just as good at 2/3rd the cost.
7) Nightforce Base or EGW Base?
-- Never had a problem with my EGW, but I like being able to sleep at night knowing I have a quality base.
8) Burris Rings or NightForce Rings?
-- Nothing wrong with Buriss rings from what I am told, but I think the NightForce rings will do more for my street creds.
9) FDE or OD?
-- I like green, I think FDE is ugly, but OD seems to be out of style these days, and FDE in.. I want to be in style.
10) Atlas or Harris?
-- Never had a problem with Harris and the Atlas is 2-3 times more $. However, I hear great things about the Atlas, and I want to try something else since I already own 3 Harris.
