I have a Remington 700 WITHOUT the hinged magazine floor plate (ADL). I want to use the action and rebarrel to a long range / tactical rifle in 6.5x55. I am having a really hard time finding a stock maker that has anything for the ADL in a long action. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Brownells list an HS Presicion for the 700 ADL long, but I called HS and they say no deal - only for BDL. I know that I could buy an ADL to BDL conversion kit, but I would rather not do this and put the money into optics or a decent stock. Thanks

Re: Remington 700 ADL stock question

Keep an eye out for a used BDL L/A Bttm Metal in the For Sale section on here. YOu should eventually find on for considerably less than the $150 new price. Or save up and get an DBM from Seekins, Hooper, Badger, HS, Wyatts, etc...

Re: Remington 700 ADL stock question

I did find that Choate has a - what looks like a pretty nice stock for a Remington 700 ADL long action with adjutable cheek piece, adj. butt assembly and an aluminum base in the forend. I am checking with Brownells to see if they can order one of these. I will report back to the forum if I purchase one.
