Hello everyone,
This is actually my first post on here and decided to make an account after lurking around the forum for a while. I have a question in regards to a Remington 700 that I am trying to purchase. This will be my first rifle, and I am trying to get something decent. However, I came across this older Remington 700 BDL with a "throw-in-the-trash" Tasco scope that sells for about $450. When I inspected it, I noticed that the firing pin head (I believe that's what it's called) might be chipped? I am not extremely familiar with firing pin heads, but it looked odd to me.
It looks almost identical to this picture that I had found online. Therefore, my question is.. is it a safe gun to purchase or would I need to purchase a different bolt? Or is it possible to replace just the pin head?
Thanks!
