remington 700 bolts

are the bolts pretty generic? like .473bf and short action are they interchangable?

Different actions and calibers have different bolts. There is a list at the top of:

Whats your question?

Bolts are individually headspaced to their rifle and can not be used in any other until headspaced to the new rifle.

Many short actions have a 473 bolt face, but whats your question?

length wise.... i had some work done that i really dont like and would like to trade my bolts for someone else bolt, was what i was wanting to do

Ah ok. The new bolt has to be headspaced. Even if it headspaces, theres still counterbore to worry about.

Barrel has to be taken off, and 4 dimensions checked/changed.
