A friend of mine told me today that buying a brand new Remington to use for a project is a bad idea because they recently changed the design of the trigger. He said that what this translates to, is that the Timney trigger system won't fit in the new production Remintons. can anyone lend any credence to this information?

Re: Remington 700 design change

Your friend is corn-fusing the Timney with the rifle basix trigger. The rifle basix used the safety lever from the original Remington trigger group. The new x-marks did not work with the rifle basix but RB now have the "K" kit that includes the safety.

FWIW I have a Timney 510 in one of my 700's from last year.
