Remington 700 in 6.5 caliber ever built?

Did Remington ever build a VSSF or other stainless varmint contour in a 6.5 or 260 caliber. I'm looking for a donor for a wildcat project. 264 win mag and 6.5-284 will both not work do to the wildcat case being not big enough to eat the old chamber. Input appreciated

Ive seen a few 260's on gunbroker in varmint contour, but dont recall if they were stainless...

wouldnt it just be easier and cheaper to buy the action barrel and stock from brownells??

Stainless Sendero in 25-06 already owned. Action is blueprinted stock is bedded. Wanting to try a variation of the 6.5-06. If it is a flop, I don't want to trash a nice barrel. Would like to do the first test run on a take off factory barrel.

I just sold a 700 varmint in 260.

Why not order a match barrel with a longer shank for a intentional set back if needed.

The Remington VLS in 260 is rare to be using as a test bed. I'd go get a custom barrel

Aren't all Remington 6.5's 1/9 twist rate? Would that be suitable for your application? Just asking.

You could get a adam and bennet barrel. they are cheap and dont shoot to bad.
