REMINGTON 700 J lock

I've never had a rifle that had one, but I don't like the idea of one. If you want to swap it out, get a Kleindorst bolt disassembly tool from Brownells, and a new firing pin assembly from Brownells, PTG, etc. Whenever you need to strip the bolt, the Kleindorst tool makes life a lot easier.

I've never had any trouble with the 3 I have. But PTG will periodically have sales on their pin assemblies and now they're spares.

Replace it with a new bolt shroud/firing pin assemble from either PTG or my preference is Gre-Tan which IMHO is a much nicer unit over the PTG. If you pull the firing pin on a J-lock you will see why you should replace it, usually the spring looks like a cork screw!!!
