I am finally going to unsafe queen my Rem 700WM, and I want to put a good trigger in it. I have read many of the threads here pertaining to trigger replacements, but I am still trying to figure out which way to go.

My buddy has a Kepplinger set trigger in his Windrunner which is incredible. it gives a stiffer but crisp (2.5#) trigger pull for hunting, but when it is set, you think about it and the bullet is gone. The previous threads relating to the Kepplinger trigger are older. My rifle has the X Mark Trigger, so I also would have to find an old style trigger housing to put the Kepplinger in. Where could I find one of those?

There are also several people who say the Jewell can be easily wiped out by a blown primer, which could suck in the field. I will use the rifle for some comps and hunting. What is working for the guys here, and does anyone have any experience with the Kepplinger set trigger in a 700? Your help and experience are appreciated.

i've put hundreds of bench rounds thru my jewell. The trigger is incredible. I've heard it fails easily with dirt but haven't seen it. I don't see how it could happen, maybe in sand, heavy dust? but I would think that would hurt any of them. I have mine set at 1.5#, came at 1# and measured with a scale it hit within an ounce for 10 pulls.
