Remington 700 magpul bolt

I've been looking online for awhile now for replacing the bolt on the magpul edition remington 700. I know the bolt knob is removable in this set up but the only thing I found was a 2 year old reddit thread that went cold without a solution.

Has anyone found a solution? The reddit thread I found the creator of the thread mentioned upon removing the bolt knob he realized the threads were not 5/16x24 but wider and coarser

I have. I can't remember the thread pitch other then it was only available from an ebay seller. When I get home I can give you more details

I believe that is correct for a "standard" threading on bolt knobs.

You need a replacement bolt? Or knob? Or what's going on? Do you just want the factory bolt with the removable knob for another rifle? Maybe I'm not following, but what's the issue at hand?

I don't think so. As far as I remember the thread is different for the magpul models. It was hard to find unless there are more options out there now

I run a trijicon tenmile on mine and wanted a longer throw. The bolt knob I ended up getting gives me enough clearance to cycle rounds without hitting my optic

I was pretty damn positive it was, because that's the universal thread for most bolt knobs.
