My youngest son just purchased a Remington 700 in 308 with a 16.5 inch heavy threaded barrel. He wants to mount a TR20-1G: AccuPoint 3-9x40 Riflescope, Standard Crosshair with Green Dot on it. He does not want to us a Picatinny Rail system. I want to keep the scope as low to the receiver as possible.
Could you please suggest a good mounting system and what size should the mounts be (low or medium)?
My son does have a SDN-6 and plans to use this rifle with the suppressor for deer in PA.
