Remington 700 pistol

Brownells is agsin offering from the factory bare 700 actions. Can these legally be uses to build a 700 handgun like the old XP100 or are they rifle only actions? Thanks.

If they are undesignated, yes. You would have to call Brownell's to see for sure.

Probably means did Brownells receive them as rifle ​actions.

I called brownells and they said that they are just listed as bare receivers and that is how they are shipped. Brownells said it is up to the FFL to mark them as either a pistol or rifle at the time of transfer. Does this make sense?

Unless the dealer makes them into a rifle or a pistol they would be sold as a " Other Firearm " and you could make it into what you want.
