HI
I was wandering if any one knows if remington changed there action threads when transitioning from the older model actions to the newer actions, I heard a refernce where some on took an savage heavy barrel from a large shank action and cleaned up the threads by turning them down and that it would work for 700 old actions. Then just screwed it on and head spaced it like a savage. Then tightend it down with the barrel nut. Is that possible? I have a newer action and thought that would be a good way to get a budget strait taper barrel!
Any help is appreciated, thanks
