I have an ADL (blind mag) in .270. I was looking to rebarrel to a 6.5-284 and upgrade the stock. My question is if I buy bottom metal (hinged floor plate and assesories) will it work in any 700 stock that is designed for that configuration? Is there Anything else I should consider while doing this? Thinking b&c or HS stock.

Re: Remington 700 questions

It will work, but by the time you have bought the hardware, you'll be out about 140 bucks.

For another 120 or so, you could send the stock off to CDI an have Jeff inlet for his bottom metal (about 209 for the bottom metal and 60 for the inlet). you would still need to buy the magazine, but I think you'll be happier in the end.

Stockys stocks also sell a drop in unit for the long action for 259 which includes one magazine. I believe it is either the Wyatts or someone bought them out and renamed it.

Stockys also sells hinged floorplates, but you might need to buy the hardware
