Recently got a Remington 700 .308 in an AI chassis.

Rifle is fitted with a Ken Farrell scope rail.

Problem is it seems to stand very high above the action, trying to mount a Schmidt PMII on it using Badger rings and there's way too much space between the bottom of the scope and the barrel.

Has anyone used a lower rail, if so what manufacturer should I look at.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Remington 700 scope rail

The nf is a great rail as is the tps (much less expensive) but if you want the best get a Near Manufacturing and be done, it doesnt matter what brand have it bedded or do it your self its very easy to do.

Re: Remington 700 scope rail

Its very difficult to get 34mm rings here in the UK, no one will ship, I have the Badger rings and want to use them, can source some rails over here, worse case I'll have to wait until my vacation in Palm Springs and buy something then, thanks for the advice.

Re: Remington 700 scope rail

is the base on your rifle tapered (20 moa) or is it straight? Are you using Badger 1.0 rings? My suggestions is to match the base with the rings but thats just me =)
