Hey guys just bought a new remington 700 sps tactical .223 i was wondering what type of scope would you think would be effective i do alot of shooting but am interested in competition sometime in the near future cannot make my mind up on a tactical long range scope less than $600.00 any help would be appriciated

Look at the Vortex Viper. Sightron also has a nice scope for that price range.
If your interested in doing tactical competitions, I would encourage you to look at a first focal plance scope. Wait two more months and the Vortex Viper PST will be out for about $850.00.
It has a bunch of really nice features that arent readily available for scopes under $1000-1200.

If you can wait, go with the Vortex. I own a Sightron SIII and its very nice but doesnt offer the features that todays tactical shooters are wanting eg; mil/mil ffp. if you have to have something now, don't hesitate to go SIII
