My actual Rem 5R is not bedded since the HS stock has an aluminum block to mount the action to. I did find out though that my rifle likes the action screws to be torqued to only 55 in-lbs and not the factory 65.

I am in the process of bedding a Remington PSS into the factory HS stock it came with. I have one of the typical off center barrel channels, seems comon that the bedding block and barrel channel are frequently misaligned, it is making contact with the barrel and causing accuracy to degrade.

Had a 5R stock and an SPS Varmint mated together. Shot like crap till I got it bedded. Shot like a champ after that. I usually skim bed all of mine anyway. Just my .02

I had the same problem with mine. Skim bedding made a world of difference

Mine too. It seems Ive had 3 or 4 HS stocks and they have all been off centered. Mine isn't touching but it is kinda annoying. I do like HS stocks though, a deffinate weight savings over the MCM's and some others, if that is the goal.
