Picked up a Remington 700 SPS tactical today with a threaded barrel. I know the aac sd model comes threaded but from what ive seen online the tactical model didnt. Im trying to figure out if this was done at the factory or aftermarket. Anyone seen a factory tactical with threaded barrel?

Yes, it's factory...it should have come w/a muzzle thread protector? These were the first versions released, subsequently, they released the "AAC" models - (1) w/flash hider & (1) w/combo brake & flash hider.

Twist rate might be roll stamped on the barrel.
That would be your definitive answer.

Regardless, either barrel will stabilize any bullet you are likely to shoot, though the 1-10 would be required for the 208 amax
