Got a remington 700 sps in 7mm mag and i am looking to put it into a new stock. Now while looking at the stocks i see that most say will fit either the 700 BDL or ADL. Now i know its long action obviously but what will fit the sps?
What will fit the Remington 700 action? Take your pick of just about any stock or chassis you can think of and there's your answer. It's by far the most popular action on the market.
You need a BDL stock, hinged floor plate generally means BDL. My first stock upgrade for my 700 SPS was just a take off HS Precision off a 700P model. Easy to find used and relatively cheap.
I agree with Lightning, I may be wrong, but the rifle is probably a BDL. I don't think there are many SPS ADLs. Look for a Long Action BDL (right handed if right handed). Now the hard part...finding the right stock. I suggest you handle several to see what really feels good.
Several of the SPS models, except the Tactical, Buckmasters, a few others, are ADl models. Certainly all the SPS models offered at my local Dick's Sporting goods are ADLs!
