Hey guys.
Im wanting to buy a rem 700 target tactical, but can't find many opinions about it. I want to know what's it like off the shelf. I DON'T wanna customize things on it.

Here are some Cons i heard.
Barrel over heating
Bad accuracy because of the triangle barrel (can't see how this is so )
Price
.
I hope these aren't true and there are alot of pros

Any help would be fantastic and much appreciated. I hope people like helping new blokes on this site.

Thanks guys
Kind regards

Craig

Re: remington 700 target tactical review

Triangular barrels MAY have a more significant poi shift as the barrel heats up.

The took a round barrel and proceeded to shave off larger portions. Now, you no longer have even tension throughout the length of the barrel. As the barrel heats, it will "pull" off axis.

It is an expensive rifle in a bell and carlson stock.

You could buy a standard 5R mil-spec and the B&C stock for about the same price, then sell the HS Precision stock (depending on availability down under)

FWIW, the target tactical does seem to be more accurate than the lower cost VTR.

It is a merchandising gimmick, fall for it if you wish.

Great info guys. You can't get the bell @ carlson down under unless you buy that gun, and just my luck its the only gun in aussie that has that stock. it looks impressive group at 100 yards but how about long range shots?

Don't be to enamored with the stock.
It is a good stock, but VERY heavy.
The HS precision that comes on the 5R is a good stock also, though not for everyone.
