I have one eyed at a local gun shop for $795. Are these generally good shooters? I plan to put a better stock on it and take it out past 600 yards if they are. Thanks for any info.

They are good shoooters BUT.
Usually the factory barrel twist doesn't let you shoot the heavies effectively and therefore getting far out there past 600 can be difficult. If you're looking to swap the barrel on it that's one thing but keeping it bone stock (barrel and action wise) will disappoint you at a long distance.
Besides, I'm not 100% convinced that's a great price either.
