Forgive me, my technical knowledge of fire arms is somewhat limited, and this may seems like a silly question, but its more for curiosity sake.
So i was reading up on the Remington 783, obviously this is a budget hunting rifle and i'm not a gunsmith so i don't know if this rifle/action could be turned into a precision platform (i guess any thing can if you have the $$), but the 783 comes with a detachable magazine which is staggered, to my knowledge Remington 700 actions have to be machined/modified to be able to feed from staggered AW magazines, so does this mean if bottom metal was made for a 783, it could feed from staggered AW magazines with minimal work?

cheers.

Measure the width of the mag compared to an aw mag. Also ptg has bolt heads if you want a magnum caliber. I think the stock hole spacing is different so I don't know about a dbm. Lumley has a steel dbm that could be welded up an given the correct hole spacing. Keep us posted.
