I had one in 6mm that was also very accurate. Had a Harry Lawson thumbhole stock that was pumpkin orange. Ugliest rifle I owned but sure did shoot.

A roommate of mine in college had in one in .243 and it was very accurate. I offered to buy it from him several times, unsuccessfully.

I have every single model made. Left and right handed and the carbine version. I started my rifle days off with a .223 one and fell in love with it. After that I started collecting them. greatest find is when an over priced Pawn shop in my area came around a corner with one in 44 rem magnum. He thought he was getting top dollar for it as the blue book stated $400. And he was not going to take less than $450. I laughed bought it and then told him that it would sell for up to 1250 on gunbroker. He was an ass.
I have shot alot of high dollar firearms and own some as well. I still love my 788 over them all

Got a bunch of them...... fastest lock time of any factory bolt action ever made. Great rifle with a few flaws, but overall great.

I have several also, including a 7-08 carbine, since you are an expert is it pretty rare?

I have several also, including a 7-08 carbine, since you are an expert is it pretty rare?

7-08, 30-30 and .44 mag are rarest.
I have two of those 3. the 7-08 was only done in a carbine version the last two years of production.

I had one 20 years ago in 6mm Rem. It was extremely accurate for a factory rifle. Wasn't the prettiest rifle in the world, but it shot well.

44 is the rarest with 30-30 and 7mm-08 following. My favorite is the 44 followed by the most acurate gun I have ever shot at 100 yards a .223

Some people will tell you that 6mm are hard to find. In ohio over the years I have come across several. I have only come across on 44 and it is in my safe.
