As promised last week in another post, here's my recent positive experience with this rifle. I took delivery just after the first of the year. Borrowed a Sightron scope and APA Little Bastard brake off of another rifle to do a bit of initial shooting. I used a Farrell G-Force base, which coupled with the rings I used have the scope sitting too high. I'll be fixing that soon. Please excuse the low-quality cell pics.
I grabbed a box of FGMM 168gr and headed out to my range. The target below represents the first ten rounds out of the rifle @ 100 yds. The high shot is my boresighted first round. The next 9 went into just over an inch. I fired pretty fast, just trying it out and seeing how it fed the rounds.
That seemed simple enough, so I backed up to 500 yds and fired the next ten on my full size steel silhouette. 8 of the ten went into just over 5 inches, with two opening the group up. I'm not a good shot (yet!) but did have some help from the wind gusting out of the south!
I ventured back out today to shoot a few more, and was able to post this 500 yard 5 shot group that measured right at 5.4".
Needless to say, I'm happy with the results so far. The X-Mark Pro trigger is inconsistant, and probably will go away soon if I can't make it right. The Hogue stock, well what can I say that hasn't already been said about it! A McRee's Precision folding chassis will be coming in the future. I intend to add the AAC 7.62 muzzle brake, and eventually an AAC 7.62 suppressor. A tactical bolt knob, and tweaking a reload should have me in very good shape. Thanks for reading, CKruse
