Gunsmithing Remington/HS Precision buttplates????

Are these glued on or bolted?? I need to add spacers for LOP. If they are glued what's the best way to get them off?

Gentle heat. They are glued.

Sometimes that doesn't even work...... Use caution and go slow.

How old is the stock ? I have an HS stock on my 223 that had originally been on my PSS from the early 90's and it is definetly bolted on .

I know I wish I could do something about this too, kinda funny how ya spend $350 for a new stock then throw a peice of a old tire for a butt pad.

KMW rifles makes a nicer set up than the trap shooting thing. His site loads as slow as pond water moves but eventually it will load.

Well mine was glued on. I ended up cutting the soft part off with a box knife. Interestingly enough, there was a metal reinforcement frame in it just like any other pad. It also had screw holes. I ended up taking a field pad I took off a Browning O/U (the screws line up with the holes) and spaced it with a 1/2" piece of wood for now. I gained about 3/4-1" LOP which should work. I am going to test it out this weekend and once I get it right I'll use something that doesn't look so redneck.
