So, I contacted Remington about a replacement barrel for my M40 SSA. It doesn't need a new barrel but I was curious. Anyway, they came back and said because it is a 40x it would have to go to the custom shop. I wasn't aware these particular rifles were 40x actions. They were made under consultation with Iron Brigade is about all I know. I sent them an email to verify. Does anybody else have one and/or can shed some light on this like how to tell the difference between a 40x and a M700 action or any other information on this rifle's development? All I did several years ago was buy one and started using it often. It is a 1 MOA out to 700+ yards for sure.
