What the ....! What is it with US manufacturers at the moment? Not only do we have Leupold trying to charge more than the highend European scope makers we now have a mass market gun maker looking to do the same. AI rifles suddenly look very attractive.

Not worth it IMO, not trying to dog the rifle, but if your gonna spend that kind of money, wait until the AIAX rifles are out or just get the current AIAW in .300 WM, its cheaper and in all honesty probably gonna be a better rifle, JMO. </div></div>

13,000$ and he doesn't even toss in shipping... ouchies.

Re: Remington MSR

Definantly awesome looking, I am not sure what to say when I see that scope, I don't know if Leupold had a superiority complex with Premier and that happened or what? Like I said earlier though, it looks like a badass rifle, but I'm not sure what it offers over a $5000 AIAW.

I don't think youre comparing apples to apples.

Re: Remington MSR

I will say that teh MSR is BY FAR the best looking gun porn out, period. That rifle is just IT. Would love to own one, and hopefully one day I will...prices will have to come down from what Im seeing/hearing though...

I think the Lamborghini/Z06 'Vette/Shelby GT500 are fine as hell also, but would need those prices to come down before I stepped into that line as well...

Damn if it wasnt for money, I could own one....

I have to respectfully disagree with this, the MSR is like the Camaros a year or two ago, they were WAY overpriced and everyone wanted one so bad, they practically charged whatever they wanted for the latest and greatest aspect of it, the MSR is currently overpriced IMO, you could almost get two AIAW's that have been proven over the years for the price of one MSR, also the whole been won as a trophy at the internationl sniper comp, is a sentimental value similar to buying a gold medal off someone else who won at the olympics, but like you said, its the latest so it gets the latest and greatest price tag. JMHO

Re: Remington MSR

I think that like all things money is a relative thing. Its about how much something is worth to you. I myself can't afford a regular MSR or xm2010 and yes they're different. But this particular one is a collectable, there are only two of these in the world and his teammate has the other one. Like all things collectable it is worth whatever someone is willing to pay. There are people on this site that have more money in optics than I have in my entire collection. So someone may buy it, it won't be me but that doesn't mean it's completely off base. I guess what I'm saying is I'm tired of all the bitching lately by people about expensive tools/kit (leupold 1.1-8, MSR, ect...)if you think it's overpriced then don't buy it. Let your money do the talking. Sales dictate market which dictate pricing. If a manufacturer (or person) has ridiculous pricing then they will find themselves out of business. However just because something is extremely expensive doesn't mean that there is not a market for it. but last time i checked both Leopuld and Remington were pretty healthy brands economically speaking. Ok I'll get off my soapbox now!

Re: Remington MSR

Is that a tubegun chassis? Is that a stock Remington action? Uses AICS magazines? So, besides the hype, is there anything unique about this system? Folding stock? Remington is not breaking any new ground here: just copying existing innovations. I'd even call their rendition of the tubegun chassis inferior because it does not sleeve the action.
