Ok... Since there is SOOOO much debate and talk over these rifles... Here are my (2)... One is the SPS Tactical... the other.. that has the vortex hider is the AAC Threaded version.

I am NOT going to show targets... but with FACTORY Black Hills 175 Match they are UNDER 1/2 MOA rifles...

Take into account these are NOT in the factory stocks... Both are in HS Precision Stocks... different versions... but both are HS's..

Hope these help..... if you have ANY questions... DONT hesitate.

Re: Remington SPS Brothers...

Outsy,

Thats a little rude... I NORMALLY DONT post targets due to them being made up if someone wants to pass along a bogus claim...

But... so that I "CAN" give my opinion...

Here is the SPS Tactical Target.

Its a FBI Qualification "Q" target...

The TOP right of the Q is a sighter shot...

The (3) rounds to the RIGHT of the target ARE the (3) shot group.

This was done with Black Hills 175 Match ammo at about 101 Degree afternoon.

Hope this helps....

Re: Remington SPS Brothers...

I love the Vortex... To me the .308's DONT have much kick anyways...but the brake makes NO felt recoil at all to me..

I am just using a 10X Super Sniper on both... until I decide to swing for something else...

The SS 10X for the $ and even for several hundred more is just too hard to beat... and it takes a HELL of alot of abuse..

Re: Remington SPS Brothers...

Which vortex did you order? 5/8 X 24. .625 shank? I'm trying to decide between the vortex and the R&D precision RAD brake. Shot my SPS-AAC for the first time yesterday. Very happy with it so far.

Re: Remington SPS Brothers...

The one on there is the 5/8 X 24 Vortex.

I have Randy (RD Precisions) RAD Brake and I HIGHLY recommend it.

To me its MORE effiecent than the vortex and looks KILLER!!!

You may want to read that thread too ... cause your 3 shot groups dont mean a thing.

</div></div>

Stop acting like a little bitch and move on.

Before you spew shit from that mouth of yours atleast know facts.
3 shot group = gun
5 shot group = shooter

To the op 3 shot groups are however not allowed. Read the rules on shot groups.

Re: Remington SPS Brothers...

I've been looking at getting either one of these and was just wondering if the AAC version with the 1 in 10 twist is better for long range shooting versus the 1 in 12 of the SPS Tactical?

I kinda like the threaded barrel of the AAC and would probably lean toward that one when they are more readily available.

Re: Remington SPS Brothers...

Boone,

Thanks... Thats the reason I mentioned that I did NOT want to post it...

I ran out of ammo... and 3 rounds was ALL i could do..... The gun has been shot since... and will do it with 5 rounds....

But... I have NO need to post them or record it.... I know it will shoot and thats good for me..

I was mainly trying to let everyone know that is looking at the SPS or the AAC that they are great guns... and are VERY capable of shooting VERY accurately...

Matt.

Re: Remington SPS Brothers...

mm,
Remington Rifles with medium to heavy barrels are known for their out of the box 1/2MOA performance regardless of what anyone else posts. Showing a sample target isn't required because anyone who owns a Remington with one of the heavier barrels knows full well they are tack drivers for at least 10 rounds before they open up a tad.

On the 3rd Saturday of each month, the Fort Valley Gun Club, Ft Valley, GA, has a centerfire bench rest match at 11:00 AM. The details are on our web site: www.fortvalleygc.net We use the IBS 100 and 200 yard targets at 104 and 228 yards... a 20 shot match plus sighters. Rifles are limited to 30 caliber and under.

You and mm128 are both invited. It's a fun match but we're competitive. As match director I'll wave the $5 match fee one time if you identify yourselves to me as Outsy & mm128.

It's a great opportunity for you guys to go head-to-head for bragging rights.

I couldn't agree more. I have three SPS-V rifles in .223, 6mm and .308. ALL are shooters.

While I've not settled on a load for my .308 yet, in 15 groups shot at 102 or 104 yards, my average 3-shot group is .609". Some are under 1/2 inch while others are slightly over. I've now made up 10 rounds each of the best four loads to shoot 5-shot groups with.

The .223 is a sub-1/2 MOA rifle. It and the .308 are in B&C tactical stocks.

As soon as I can afford a B&C stock for the 6mm, I'll develop loads for it but it's on hold right now. Still, it's sub-MOA even with the factory laminated stock. I just think it will do better with a B&C stock that free floats the barrel.

The invitation is open to you and Matt anytime. I think you'd both enjoy the match. We're pretty informal and have a lot of fun.

Re: Remington SPS Brothers...

Anyone know if you can clear coat the paint on a scope..???

I know the stock has a clear type application over the paint... I just want the paint to hold up on the scope so that I am NOT touching it up all the time....

Any recommendations would be great.
