Looking at these two stocks, are they both injection molded plastic stocks?

A member here has told me he believes one of them to be "<span style="text-decoration: underline">not</span> a cheesy plastic stock" and has "metallic particles in its composition". From a LA Rem Mtn Rifle, ADL.

Now by the sheen/finish one of them looks to be the older plastic ADL stock, much like the one that came on a rifle I bought new in about 1991. I'm 99% sure it was all plastic, maybe an aluminum block, but by no means was it fiberglass, metallic composite or anything else cool that I know of. I've never seen any Remington stock with that hollow area under the barrel channel that was anything but plastic, but I've been wrong before.

So, what says you? Are these both "cheesy plastic stocks" or am I missing something.

Jason

Sorry Jason but they both appear to be as you said "cheezy plastic stocks".lol More than likely a bit different composition because of either time period or if they were contracted out by Remington.

Nothing to be sorry about, I've got no dog in this fight, just trying to make sure that I'm not missing something.

Appreciate any other comments if other users have experiences with them.

Both seem injection moulded, maybe the top one in the first pic has a bit more glass or filler in the resin making it possibly stiffer. Cut a piece off in a hidden area and burn it, if you look closely you should see left over glass fibers (about 0.1-0.5mm long) or some white powder left over. If nothing is left over there was no reinforcing material inside. If it smells a bit like a candle when burning then the resin is polyprop or polyethylene based. One of the cheaper injection moulding plastics. Nothing really glues to that either.
