Gunsmithing remington vls .308

i have a remington vls inn .308 that i have the trigger at 3 pounds crisp and a leupold 4.5x14x40.it iss a sweet shooter that i have had since 1998 or so and im wondering what else can be done with it.is the stock a pos or can it be worked with.

Also check the leade on your bore and load accordingly, torque all of your action and optics-mounting screws, and verify whether your action and stock have been floated and bedded. I would not bother with the last with one of the aluminum/composite stocks, but with a laminated wood one it could make a difference.

You say sweet, what do you mean by that? Can you get 10rd. 1-MOA groups with off the shelf ammo? What size groups are you getting? Did you ever go through a serious break-in regimen?

I bought a new one around that same year. I never shot it much because I was afraid scratch it up. So a couple years ago I decided to get a hs precision stock and start shooting it. Here is what it ended up as. Being on this site is like having a never ending list of projects. It shot as well with the lam stock. So if you don't want to change anything, just shoot it, like DMann said.
