Remington X-mark pro trigger screw fell out - safe to shoot?

    I guess I set the trigger too lightly, the adjustment screw is gone. Damn thing is still a 4 lb pull. :(

    Any reason to think it's not safe to shoot?

    Hopefully I'll put a Timney 510 in it soon. Just want to make sure it's good to go until then.

    I wouldn't trust it. If it's like mot other triggers, that screw compresses the trigger return spring. If the screw is out, the spring is likely just binding on the threads in the hole. Until it pops loose and you completely lose your trigger return, which could result in failure to hold the firing pin in the cocked position or even accidental discharges when closing the bolt or flipping the safety.

    Bottom line, replace the trigger before using the rifle. That trigger is not in a safe condition.

    ETA: I have little experience with the Xmark Pro triggers, but quite a bit of experience with many other adjustable bolt gun triggers. I am not a gunsmith.
