Gunsmithing Remington XP100R Action = Remington 700 Action???

Hi guys im new to the forum, I just wanted to know if a Remington XP100r action (in .260Rem) would fit a Remington 700 SPS Varmint Stock and floorplate... I got a XP100R laying around unused and if it fit im gonna build a 20" tactical rifle with the action and a Shilen barrel I have uncutted...

Please tell me if it would work, nobody here seems to know about it....

I believe newer XPs like your 100R are model 7 actions and older ones were Mohawk/600 actions. They won't fit a 700 SA footprint.

If you were here in the US it would be pretty easy to get a trade for a 700 SA. Don't know about your AO. Tony

The older XP100 are single shot... The one i got is a XP100r and its a repeater... Its chamered for 260Rem, (its a 308win necked down to .26...

As stated above and in the PM, you'll need to find a Model 7 stock for your conversion.

Theres no much selection of stocks for the Seven action...

any ideas guys???

McMillan, HS Precision, Accurate Innovations, Remington just to name a few.

There are several different stocks on Gun Broker right now.

You think its a better idea to trade it off for some Remington 700??? I also got a Savage Striker in .260
