Mechanically they're the same, but metallurgically they're different. The SPS Tactcal and other blued and/or parkerized finish 700s' have chromoly steel actions and triggers. Some of their bottom metals are steel but are often aluminum.

The 5Rs' definitely have stainless steel triggers, but I don't remember if the 5R's bottom metal is actually stainless steel, chromoly, or aluminum.

Re: Remington ?

The 5R trigger and bottom metal are both <span style="text-decoration: line-through">pot metal</span> cast aluminum.

The X-Mark Pro trigger shoe can be broken at the adjustment screw hole from too much force, and torquing the action screws to 65 in/lb (H-S Precision stock recommended spec) is sketchy with the cast bottom metal.

These were the first parts I changed out on my 5R with replacements from Timney and Williams respectively.
