removing tar from pulled bullets

I am in the process of pulling the FMJ green tipped bullets from loaded ammo and switching to a non-FMJ bullet. What is the best way to remove the tar from the pulled bullets?

Tumble with walnut shell dampened (not soaked) in mineral spirits.

Goof Off will remove it. It is a bit strong, but it will come off.

I just let mine soak in acetone for a couple hours, let dry then run them in my vibratory case cleaner a bit, clean as whistle.

brake cleaner. It erases the tar on contact. I put them in a bowl, hit them with the brake cleaner, and roll them around. Dump the rounds on a paper towel.

If you are planning to reload those cases you'll have to remove the tar from inside the case necks too.

Usually, I shoot them right out the case with a nifty little device called an M4 but that's just me.

Try lacquer thinner. That stuff removes everything.
