Gunsmithing Repairing a H-S Precision stock.

I have a H-S Precision PSV74 stock that has the dual palm swells. I've never been able to warm up to the dual swells and would like to grind/sand flat the swell on the off side. Anyone done this that can offer advice to the removal and then the needed repair?

Just sand it off with 60 grit. Feather it in with 120, finish with 220ish. Fill anything that needs filling with Devcon 10110. Valspar makes an aerosol paint that builds lots of texture. I think it's called "stone finish". Paint as desired.

You can do as above but I would also use resin and fiberglass cloth to repair the sides. Especially if you sand all the way through the outside carbon fiber shell.

Thats kinda what I was thinking. The swell is about 3/8 inch thick. So I will be going through the outer shell.

You can also go to Advance Auto/Autozone or other car parts place and buy ground fiberglass already in resin. Just add hardner and slap it on and form it. I used it to repair an old H-S stock and it worked great.

See if you can swap someone for a non-palm swell model.
